Considering your rival manages to find the time to help out with investigating the Hyperspace anomaly, it probably doesn't require you to go so far as to obtain Eternal Floette before you're eligible to start the storyline. At most you'll get some fluff dialogue about how nice it is that you and Floette are making for such great partners together if she's in your party.

The main story ends with Ange, you don't need to do a single infinite royale battle to be in the postgame and get Diancie and Mewtwo so why would it be different for the DLC?

Do you need a tutor? If the wild levels are lower, just don’t use the same team you used on the main game.
That’s the main advantage, in SV each DLC is big enough for you to use two new teams. ZA DLC will force you to use the same things because of the high level - but assuming it is a short DLC, it probably wouldn’t justify a new team anyways

the last decent gen was 6
7 was the start of the modern downfall, while gen 5 was the beginning of nu-gen
1-4 are old gen, 5-7 are nu-gen (excluding LGPE)
everything as of switch is slop-gen, with the legends games being rare exceptions (still slop, but decent 'for a switch game')
