1/2 of those locations are destroyed by the time of the Johto games. It’s kinda hard to get invested. 2/3 if you count the power plant being unabandoned leaving poor homeless zapdos to panhandle next to the entrance.
Also, Mt. Moon is also a pretty good location imo.
