Most dinosaur Digimon are big and strong but also dumb and/or slow-moving. The Greymon family are typically an uncommon evolution that occurs when a dinosaur-adjacent Child Digimon has sufficient desire to improve itself through combat.
Greymon have a connection to Dragon Lines which allows them to retain high intelligence and the ability to use technique in battle, their weakness being that moving a body that large with such intensity drains their stamina quickly. Which is why MetalGreymon replaces its weak flesh with parts that never get tired. And then WarGreymon exaggerates those themes into "the hero wielding the energy of the planet and shielded by its own courage"
