They literally didn't use AI for this game. This rumor came from a game of telephone mix-up with another game by them that was like Amogus but with using a AI generator to generate art to correctly guess the prompt you were given like "draw a gorilla" and the imposter would get the wrong prompt and try to come up with bullshit excuses. The Ai generator used was trained on assets made in house by Pocketpair. You retards would know if you didn't have attention spans the size of grains thanks to being brain raped by the algorithm of social media sites and never reading articles past the shitty clickbait titles.

The reason this is a game at all is because the gameplay MOGS every single thing pokemon has done or tried to do in the last 15 years. The game has pretty much everything ever pokemon fan has ever asked for in the context of a Pokemon game. It has all the cool shit I imagined as a kid like flying on the back of a dragon while shooting a gun and chucking pokeballs. Literal playground fantasy brought to a cool game.
The designs are pretty much dogshit, though. The only one I truly like is Munchill. Love that little guy.

I'm pretty sure gen5 was the last pokemon game with a stable framerate. If gamefreak couldn't make stable games beyond sprites and pixel graphics, then they never should have moved past it.
Soaring in the sky is the last feature in any pokemon game that really made me say "wow this is REALLY cool" and even then I went back to standard fly eventually because there wasn't all that much you could do with it.
Pokemon gave up their core gameplay a long time ago for dress-up dollhouse gameplay. I want pokemon to be better than palworld. I want that a lot. It just isn't anymore.

Lazy excuse. GF Concept Artists could just turn off all distractions, drawing stuff from imagination.
Only use irl objects, animals, ect. as refs - instead of looking at fictional monsters, and only use said refs after already having made some decent rough designs. Well, this is how i'd do it if i was a creature designer.

Eh, its okay. It was one of the more enjoyable ea survival slop ive played. But its not great.

Flying pals in particular. They should all move a lot faster and fly more like airplanes instead of hovering.

I need to give it another shot with a friend group.
Survival games are always better with a small group.

My cousin runs a server for our household and yes, it's very nice. Much easier to collect resources when your shit farms while you sleep. Flying pals are a little bit better than initial release and if you're willing to apply some patience to breeding, then the movement speed abilities can stack and you can add stamina.
Game's still in early access but apparently they're doing full 1.0 Q1 2026. I see what we have now as basically gen1 palworld. Hopefully it gets better because there's a lot that could improve. Also since the updates are free, you can just come and go whether something interesting happens or not.

Is this game still totally unbalanced, where it essentially forces you to switch to using monsters that just passively buff the player and focus on your own weapons and gear, around level 40? I really did not like that it felt like the game was naturally gravitating away from monster battling and the pals essentially just turned into farmhands and support while you went on a solo adventure. Defeats the purpose of what made this game different from games like Ark.

If anything, all Palworld did was prove that the best approach is just to put all bets on furbait designs, just as Palworld did, i truly believe people calling Z Lucario a Palworld design stems from the curvy way they designed it (thigh highs furbait mega) and not from the tacky bits added.

Pokemon's gameplay was never the issue, the problem with Pokemon's gameplay-related issues stem from the general Safe Game Design process that infected 100% of everything within Nintendo. Some romhacks prove you can make battles more engaging (just do what clover does and allow the enemies pull off switches) and fun. But when the overall Pokemon experience is just exploring big voids of nothing but grass, have stories that are dumb as fuck, have minimal amounts of interactions with other characters and then on top of that, have games come out as incredibly fucking buggy pieces of shit without a single ounce of polish AND on top of that shitcake, you also account the fucking ugly graphics and it's no wonder why Palworld took off.

But then again, Pokemon games still sell so clearly it doesn't matter.

i means it's not that easy most guns take heavy inspiration for preexisting guns that exist already that's why all cod guns or battlefield guns take the gun combination approach but i can't say the same for cyberpunk it seems they have a huge designer team for that which i don't think is fair to compare to palworld's designer's team

i mean the only games that i've seen that made interesting guns were metro exodus, borderlands and (even though i hate it) destiny and a few so on but those were for the space or apocalyptic genre which is easy to make unique guns out of since most are banged up preexisting guns or guns that look like they came straight out of a 3d printer

could be possible but they would have to redo all the remodeling for that also i don't think the designer was that good at the time, reminder they had to make that switch to new unity engine which could also play a part why the guns look basic

i mean it kind of is not everyone is born with the gift at being good at blender or the time/investment but i also doubt a single course of blender or any other modeling application would change you into some amateur modeler also i doubt the guns would look good at all

i can list more but i don't think they are relevant anymore, i just chose the most prominent relevant ones with guns that aren't real i mean i could bring halo up but some of those guns are super inspired
