There's a reason why they made her pop out a kid and not, say, Cynthia. Because a literally who no one cares about like her is a safe bet for a "big change" like this that may or may not "revitalize" the character or to become an add-on of sorts for a brand new character since they've given up hope on the character the new character is related to.
