it started out small, as all things usually did. maybe a wayward glance here or there, or a small smile shared between the two of them. it mattered not the particulars, for they knew their feelings were mutual.
eventually, their hands started to meet, a casual brushing at first, sprouting into a firm interlocking of fingers, before blooming as a casual acceptance and reassurance that the other was with them. he was a scared younger brother, holding his big sisters safe, reliable hand. she was a worried older sister, keeping her little brother close to her, where she could protect him.
things didnt march onwards easily afterwards, his contagious fears keeping her from bridging the gap stronger still. they were, if a bit closer than their peers, still within the bounds of being normal siblings. a chance turn of heads and a supple meeting of lips, truly accidental, upended their lives, opening their eyes to the truth they could only feel blindly.
it was weird at first, mashing their faces together, but she, ever the determined of the two, made it work. her hands held his head, her tongue rested upon his, and their gazes pierced the veil between them. his hands fiddled with her hair, stroked her back, and begged with his legs for something to do. all she had to do to calm him down was sit him in her lap, wrap his legs around her body, and give him a hug of her own.
