I can't explain it. There is just something so cool about the old pixel games where "flowers" swayed back and worth in 8bit.

Call me what you will but I think the Gen 1/2 look is the best look for Pokemon, for the overworld. The simplicity of the games compliment it.

Gameboy/GBC sprites are pretty cool. For the longest time I didn't realize sprites were forced onto 8x8 grid lines.

The regular trainer battle theme and the route 11 theme are my favorites, and also the route 4 theme is iconic as fuck
