Because that'd require them to put Pokemon at the time of the war, which is a topic they desperately want to avoid actually depicting since it was a bloody and brutal event that concerned the entire world due to the nature of the Ultimate Weapon, as well as all of the other catastrophic scenarios that took place in that same "3000 years ago" timeframe.
