It's basically just bonus for the sake of bonus, the only real novel thing is that Rival, Korrina and Emma all now have the power to use multiple Megas in a single fight, with Emma now popping Mega on both Lucario and Malamar, Rival popping Mega on Meowstic, Manectric and the two starters, and Korrina using a full ass team of Megas.
Jacinthe's level bump is pretty great though, now she gives 20k per win assuming you have a Level 3 Green Canari Plush.
