I swear the DLC Megas were designed by a different group of people.
The contrast between the base game Megas and the DLC megas is like night and day.

As the Teraleak told us, LZA was designed with DLC in mind from the very start, so they very deliberately held back all the actually good Megas from basegame to shove them into DLC, leaving basegame as a desolate wasteland full of objectively bad meme designs.
