Do you guys honestly think that if something is official it is good? Most official things are garbage when it comes to Pokémon, and it's clear GF doesn't knows shit about their own franchise.

I think the games have focused so much on VGC for the past 5 generations that even playing singles is to forsake most of the strategies the games have to offer.
There are so many strategies and board states that exist in VGC which can't possibly exist in singles because the moves and abilities aren't useful in singles. The battles themselves happen much quicker because there are twice as many things occurring at any given time. A lot happens in a single turn.

If this were true, we'd be seeing them actually focus on double battles in the main campaign, so players can actually get a taste of Doubles Strategies without being cast into a trial by fire via PVP.
SV DLC was really close to doing this, but because it'd been a year, everyone just steamrolled everything without deeper thought because all of their mons were level 100 and the DLC teams were <88.

The campaign is training wheels, who cares what it does?
Are you going to be offended if Gen 10 is all double battles? That's throwing players in the deep end, it's probably not a good idea when single battles is dirt simple in comparison.

they are just different formats. there are moves and abilities that aren't really useful in doubles either. because games are longer and there is a lot more focus on switching, things like pivoting and hazards are a lot more important

doubles is a lot more watchable, which is the only reason why it's the official format
