I can't for the life of me make Galarian Farfetch'd or Hisuian Qwilfish spawn in distortions. Same with non-Galarian Mr Mime, but you can just evolve Mime Jr for that. Are they limited to the five-star special research distortions?

I didn't know galarian Farfetch was rare, I got it on the first batch as the DLC started.

I guess I'm just being very unlucky with those. Just to be sure, the Galarian Farfetch'd icon has to show up in the three-Pokémon preview on the distortion's info screen, right? It can't also spawn in a distortion that shows regular Farfetch'd and the game definitely prioritizes Pokémon you don't have yet so it can't be in one of those large distortions with 4+ different species without showing up in the preview?

my advice is to catch a normal farfetch'd first so you can see if a distortion has a galarian farfetch'd in it. then just do a day/night reset.

Not really. They fucked up with the variants so they are considered caught by the game if you have the base form. So they aren’t greyed out and does not need to show up in the preview. For example you can get a spawn with the preview showing Meditite, Medicham and Sawk. Meditite and Medicham are from the same spawn so the third spot could be Galarian Farfetch’d without you knowing.

OP here, I booted up the game today and just got both Galarian Farfetch'd and Hisuian Qwilfish in quick succession. I assume I must've got at least a few cases where I did get a distortion with them and they just weren't in the preview, this time I was lucky enough for both to show up in it so no wild goose chases.

I'll ask another question while I'm at it. I assume Porygon Z, Milotic and the Charcadet evo I didn't pick in its sidequest are trade-only and won't spawn in special research distortions, right? Are there trade codes for them like the base game trade evos?

Porygon-Z can be found in 5 star distortions, you don’t need to trade but it might be easier.
Charcadet evos aren’t trade evos. The items work like evo stones. God awful RNG required to get the other armor set.
Milotic needs to be traded for yeah.

I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard you can find the armors, including the one you didn't pick, as rare drops from the pokeballs in level 4 and 5 distortions.
Getting a donut power for special items would presumably help with this.

OP again. Trade codes for the DLC mons are the same format as the base game ones, 0048 0048 for Feebas and 0012 0012 for Porygon2. There's also one to trade Armarouge for Ceruledge and viceversa, 0166 0167. All I'm missing is stuff from special distortions like Rotom, the Frigibax line and some legendaries.

Yeah, but I've never cared about Pokémon Home, I just do dex completions in the individual games.
