Mega Feraligatr wouldn't look like Feraligatr with a Totodile themed toilet lid, it'd look like an evolution of Feraligatr, it'd be to Feraligatr what Venusaur is to Ivysaur.
By the way, the complaint that Megas don't look like actual evolutions 100% extends to almost every single Mega, and that's ignoring how Gamefreak completely failed the concept the instant they thought already dominant Pokémon should not only get a Mega, but two different Megas to choose from.
