I wish more artists would draw Pokemon fighting. It's strange that so little fanart is made of literally the core mechanic of the games. Maybe it's a condemnation of how terrible the battle system actually is.

The entire point of megas is that they're unnatural forced battle only evolutions that are unsustainable to maintain all the time. So I'd say the design is actually pretty successful.

If megas were new Pokémon they would devalue the Pokemon that get them. Instead of being elevated to super saiyan shillmons, they’d just be steeping stones to get to the new Pokémon
