Why is GF removing moves from the game? There is no reason any moves should be removed.

Removing pursuit might be the worst.

I don’t think we need five Vine Whip and Tackle clones, but some other removals are questionable. Why is Take Down still in the game? Why was Pursuit removed but buffed Knock Off maintained? I think Aromatherapy was also removed but Heal Bell kept. Was some vgc strat containing pokemon that used Aromatherapy considered too strong? I wish we had their reasoning.

This. It's partially why the dex cut is bad. It's ruining of most the most unique aspects of the series and truly feels antithetical to the series.

It should be an expectation that every game should have every Pokémon from a generation previous to it be transferable to it. There's no excuse.

NTA but I think the big difference with Gen 3 was the series (and dev team) was much younger, and the reason you couldn't transfer from Gen 1 and 2 at all was they literally could not get it to work. Compare that to the Dexcut, when GF had far more experience under their belt and chose not to make certain Pokemon transferrable for seemingly no reason.

Body Press wasn't introduced until Gen 8. In Gen 3 all moves from Gen 1-3 were present. In fact until Gen 8 all moves from the previous gen were present (so Gen 7 had all moves from Gen 6, which had all moves from Gen 5, which had all moves from Gen 4, etc.)

Yeah, primarily because Friendship itself started getting merged with Affection starting with LGPE, therefore max power Return would only be possible if you gave yourself full Affection buffs, therefore pressuring the player to fully engage with Max Affection in order to maximize Return's effectiveness as a move.

I was always under the impression Signal Beam was THE Bug-type move with Leech Life, the whole signal and bug combo is just simple and effective.
If anything they should have buffed it to 80BP. It's not like Signal Beam was as pointless as Razor Wind or Submission or Rototiller and Magnet Flux to name a few.
