That doesn't make any sense, none of the heights match and they should work no matter the gender you pick. Rei and Akari are clearly not meant to be Lucas and Dawn, but their ancestors

I mean it would make sense to grow taller after a few years from the typical trainer age of 11 to the around 15 of when the PLA mc is sent back in time at the start of the game, so in the case of dawn it wouldn't really be an issue that the height doesn't match due to being taller

Dawn isn't 11, she's 12, and the 15yo thing is just Cylene's assumption based on your height... but you are from 150 years into the future so it makes sense you are taller (aka younger). Had they appeared in Legends Galar the characters would think they are 17 or 18
Anyway the plot is supposed to be the same no matter your pick and Lucas can't be Rei so Dawn can't be Akari either

I think it's fine to assume the MC's from a few years after DP seeing as smartphones are now a thing

I don't see why that's a problem, FRLG let's you play the same plot as leaf despite red being objectively the canon kanto hero

The problem is that the DPPt male MC is 145cm tall and the LA male MC is 144cm, so the former kid can't become the later. The female counterpart version is irrelevant because the narrative is supposed to be the same regardless your pic, so the male version being impossible invalidates your headcanon entirely.

Yes, it does. If your headcanon of the LA fem MC being assisant Dawn was real then the other version should be a thing too and the LA male MC would be assisant Lucas, too. No version of Lucas can't be the protagonist of LA so your headcanon is wrong.

well some shorter version of lucas from a unseen version of DP's events could be, but it doesn't really matter because it doesn't have to fit into my idea of the timeline, just like how a leaf playthrough of FRLG doesn't have to fit into the timeline

However, you're forgetting to take into account that the size in cm on the >>58770657 pic is based on the figure's size. We can clearly see that Rei's figure isn't in a straight posture, unlike Akari, who is almost perfectly upright.

Logically, Rei could easily be the same height as Akari, or even slightly taller.

sperg about it to game freak, they've explicitly made it canon that only one of the options is canon before but you just seem to keep ignoring it because it's inconvenient
and you haven't actually said anything that proves assistant dawn=PLA MC couldn't be the case

I think the figures take that stuff into account. See Victor variants for example, one has the big ass goofy hat and the other doesn't but both are listed as 8cm (160cm) tall.

Or just look at Raihan's figure, if the posture fucked up the scale like that then Raihan's figure would be way smaller because its 9.75cm (195cm) height would be from foot to his right hand and his actual height would be bellow Leon's. But no, the figure is properly scaled and Raihan's pose has nothing to do with how he's taller than Leon.
Rei's height is roughly 144cm, he doesn't look shorter because posing, he's just that short.

Because clothes and hair don't count in the measurements.

Scizor is 180cm tall, which should make him 90mm tall. However, he is 80mm tall, or 160cm, because Scizor isn't standing upright.

Meanwhile, Lysander is 100mm tall, not including his hair. This means that if Lysander weren't standing upright, he would be displayed as slightly less than 100mm.

He's running, which means Rei's foot isn't flat on the ground. Put an articulated figure in a running pose, and you'll see it lose a few millimeters in height.

So, of course, he can gain 2 cm by standing upright. I won't even mention his slightly curved body.
