So what're the chances that gen 10 is just another braindead, hand-holding, emotionless slog? Where all characters are base level, cookie cutter anime archetypes (this guy likes to eat, this girl likes to sing, this girl wants to be friends, this guy always gets lost) who are emotionless, expressions and have no voice or nuance? Where the story amounts to a barebones outline they've been recycling since the first gen? Where your main character is essentially a blank slate, even more so than other jrpgs? Where a shitty gimmick is introduced that's only included to try and make the games feel unique, when really it's just there to introduce new forms for old pokemon. (Gigantimax, mega evo, Z-moves) or some pointless side activity that provides no value and is mind numbingly boring (curry, camping, sandwich making)? Or how about a barely thought out "new battle type" that isn't fun or different enough to matter, (flying battles, underwater battles, rotation battles) Will there still be absolutely zero spice to the story? Where everyone just wants to be friends, and the only conflict arises when the evil team decides to try and control the legendary pokemon for their own profit, and our dead-eyed protagonist must befriend said legendary to save the world? And the "open world" won't just be a series of hallways where pokemon awkwardly pop in from two feet in front of you, or float around in a circle with no animation? That won't be the case right?

Pokemon is the highest grossing franchise in the world so surely it will be something new and different, right?
