Emos were all about altenative bands, dark yet very cheap clothing, and (above all else) whining.
Either they killed themselves, or got bullied so badly they ignored their emo phase and moved on.
In fact, I think emo died down after the whole internet boom pre 2010s. Around 2006/7, give or take.
