a rerelease makes sense to me but I could also see a "reboot" (with far fewer characters) for an important anniversary. 2029 for 30th, or maybe 2034 for 35th anniversary of the series? Could also do the 45th anniversary of the famicom in 2028, or the 50th in 2033.

I fully expect a switch 2 edition to come out very soon with some new additions, with the actual sequel being pretty far off. Gen 10 will be enough to carry the holiday season next year, but they'll need stuff to pepper Q1 and Q2.

I think greninja will be changed to mega
lucario's original mega is too iconic and the face of mega evolution so I think it will stay, maybe Z will be the final smash on some alt costumes similar to cloud
also think pikachu's final smash will be changed to gigantamax, possibly charizard's too

I’m probably a bigger smash fag than a Pokemon one and I honestly do not remember Ash-Greninja being in Ult in any capacity (and it couldn’t have been in S4 since that was before the anime OC form), that’s just a mod, right?

It turns into Ash-Greninja when you use its final smash. Sakurai highlighted it during prerelease but because of how dark everything gets during his final smash it’s very hard to spot it.

Yeah, because she's not meant to be a male shonen superhero like the furry heroes that DID get "an official mascot suit", you retarded little bum-invader. Did you not understand when they presented and marketed her EXACTLY the same as Fennekin and Popplio lines (only female individuals presented in the anime, all canon game hand-outs being female, all events ran featuring them female) that she was not in fact a gay harlequin like the gayest board on 4chan WANTED her to be (/vp/, just before you act innocent and attempt to ask)? They're deliberate as fuck with their actions (making a gay duck for the women and a ganky croc, so only autistic children could ever POSSIBLY pick, while hand-building the best Grass starter in history AND one of the best full stop in series history), if they wanted Meow to be a fag-magnet at ANY stage, they'd have designed it like the other gay-magnet 'mons you're fixated on.

It's hard to top Ultimate, so a reboot which lets them rework old characters makes sense.
E.g. Samus in newer Metroid games is way less floaty (she controls more like Fox) + has a parry and the ability to aim her shots at any angle. But the old moveset still makes sense for Dark Samus so you could leave her in unchanged to keep OG Samus mains happy.
Likewise you could completely rework Ganondorf but give his old moveset to Black Shadow.

Pichu might get replaced by Raichu, with it Mega Evolving for its Final Smash.

Lucario will get a new gimmick where he will mega evolve mid battle when has taken enough damage. Similar to his aura mechanic or sephirots wing, but some of his moves will change when in mega form. Like, side b will be some kind of kamehameha
