>>58794562i'm personally not a fan of much of them (grovyle is pretty cool), but i do think that being a trio that are all well liked relatively equally they are tough to beat. blastoise was always the weak link of gen 1. gen 2 were good but not outstanding. gen 4 was pretty good and maybe surpassed 3 until the megas. i personally like the gen 5 trio, but the popularity always seems to be lopsided (never in emboar's favor even now). gen 7 had a lot of initial ire to primarina, but i think incineroar's vgc presence really really soured it for a lot of players (though i think it was made right due to the smash rendition). no one really likes rillaboom and i don't think anyone is both an inteleon fan (fujo) or a cinderace fan (furry). pla is pretty good, though typhlosion and decidueye, the favorites of their debuts, are slight downgrades. gen 9 might be the most lopsided one i've seen, with meow taking all the fame, skele getting laughed at with a little competitive recognition, and that duck being the most despised starter apart from maybe skibidi toilet gatr. gen 6 is very solid, with 2 very renowned starters by fans, but i think with the addition of the megas, chesnaught isn't falling as far behind as the others, so i think gen 3 has only just been surpassed.
