>>58812155>WillE4's generally don't catch interest because they largely only appeared late and did nothing beyond their function. Will has only surface-level mystery too, because he wears a mask and that's about it.
>Tate & LizaInvariably you can't talk about only Tate or Liza on their own.
>LucianSee Will.
>Caitlin>See Will. Also, she's supposed to have "destructive power" that forbade her from battling in the Battle Castle but has been overcome by the time she becomes an Elite. This is interesting in its own way, but not especially compelling. Compare this to Sabrina's environmental and gameplay storytelling; consistently agreed upon as one of the stronger Kanto Gym Leaders who maintained her gym's official status in a city that had two gyms. Her team's average level outstrips the Fighting Dojo's too which helps to cement it. She's relatively humble (compared to her subordinate psychic trainers who idolize her for being strong) and even says she dislikes battle despite being competent enough to be leader.>OlympiaShe speaks in haiku, I guess? Not very captivating.
>AveryThe only thing I have to go off is his design
because Gen 8 is a dumpster fire and I refuse to touch it, which is... dissonant. And bad. At least he levitates his Pokéballs around his hat ostentatiously just in case you didn't know he was a Psychic specialist, right guys??
>TulipShe doesn't fit the archetype unless you say she's an empath because of her emotional test thing, but that's a huge stretch.
Mainly I think it's because Sabrina's just intriguing enough to catch interest compared to other psychic trainers without being too plain. There's just enough given to the player about her, but then if she's captured you enough to want to know more, she's gotten you to use your imagination, your mind, so she's done her job perfectly in a way. "True Psychics aren't the kind who can move things around with their minds. It's all about controlling your own mind."
