Masuda hate didn't take off until after he was ousted ironically
He lost all his influence in the fallout of gen 5, Masuda hate didn't really start until he started giving bad interviews (that realistically were stacked against him from the start) post-gen 6, like the "games have to be this way now because of smartphones" quote

Masuda isn't a great guy and I would not want to work for him. But like many artists, the worst people create the best things. His work after some polishing up by others and an extra year of time lead to the best Pokèmon games. Emerald, Platinum and HG/SS are amazing. And even with how much I dislike the gameplay of Let's Go, I have to appreciate the amount of love and detail that went into those games.

Yes but based on Gold and Silver which Masuda had to take over mid development and had to scrap the majority of Tajiri's original "Pokémon 2"
