The MC came to Lumiose on their own with the intent to stay in a hotel before getting wrapped up with Team MZ and are surrounded by a girl/guy who goes on to be placed in the CEO position of a company, a girl who's in the city on a college scholarship, and a guy who sews for a living and takes commissions. This is by far the most "young adult" coded main cast in the series.
