System seller doesn’t mean system hostage.

Pokémon absolutely sells hardware. Parents buy consoles because of it, but a system seller’s job is to amplify momentum, not replace reach, btw.

Pokémon doesn’t need to strong-arm people into buying new hardware. It benefits more from being everywhere first, then quietly nudging upgrades later.

Switch OLED was steep at $400, so how is the Switch 2 better aside from gwafix and loading screens? Pokemon is the only tendieslop that still interests me.

I bought the SV special edition Switch OLED for Gen 9 and the Switch 1 version of ZA. We already know there will be a Switch 2.1 in about a year, so I don’t have any incentive to be an early adopter. If you only have a standard Switch 1 or Lite, then yeah I could understand buying a Switch 2 for ZA. I’m just going to wait for Gen 10.

The switch 1 version of za was fine enough for a playthrough by me but yeah that makes sense. I'm suprised they didn't do a switch 2 styled z-a special edition and instead just made a generic bundle, the mario kart one was a way better deal unless you absolutely hate mk.

I haven’t played MK since the 3DS so I’m fine with waiting for a special Pokemon edition Switch 2. The only other Switch 2 game that piques my interest is Kirby Air Riders because I loved the original on GameCube. I don’t really play vidya that much anymore, and Pokemon is the only series that I feel like is a “must buy” even if it’s hit or miss. I’m fine with going back to the older Pokemon games except they’re becoming more reliant on online features that become defunct after a few years.
