They could release fire red and leaf green at 20$ a piece and people would buy them up.

Just straight up, the ROM itself. No physical copy, straight from online. And both ROMs individually, not as a pack. They could even release new mystery gifts like rare pokeballs into those games.

Seriously especially with the poor PR they have recently why haven't they just done a celebration collection with all of Gens 1-3 on a cart with Home compatibility?
Total pipe dream but I would lose my shit if we got official rom-hacks with current typings like Shin Red/Blue/Green but also with Home compatibility.

A collection would be kino, but why should GameFreak greenlight it when they can instead pull a BDSP for all the games, sell them for 70 bucks each with 30 dollar DLC that's repackaged third version content (remember, the teraleak said all future games will be made with DLC in mind, as we already saw in effect with LZA), and run away with the free money?

It would help considerably when trying to do in-person events that revolve around the older games. As of right now, it's so hard to justify something like that existing because in order to get into it, you either have to have compatible third party stuff like analogue pockets and flashcarts which many people won't do, or you have to be insane enough to pay for the official hardware, which goes for ridiculous amounts if you aren't searching garage sales. I want this to happen personally, but it's going to cause so many headaches with people having these versions instead of GBA versions.

I personally have all the hardware and stuff from back in the day. I have that old as fuck cable that plugs into the top of the GBA so I could connect to XD/Colosseum.
Can I do that? Yeah. Is it a pain in the ass? Yeah.
Would I like having ports on the switch that can simply do all that work for me? In a heartbeat.

That alone is better than just emulating. It would be even better with HOME Support and being able to connect between colosseum/XD/Stadium but that's asking too much from goifreak and TPC
