>>58799843We've already seen what happens if you assume the "needs more tiers" approach, and that's the unofficial extended metagame of Gen 1 that ensures every single Pokemon of the classic 151 is viable in some capacity, which often results in formats where it's literally only that Pokemon being pitted against itself because it's just a few stats too strong for a few peers and just a few stats too weak for other peers.
They just need to accept some Pokemon are genuinely too dogshit to use with the way powercreep's going and stop trying to tier them entirely, if 151 is too much to manage then so is 600+ for generation metas, 1025 (soon to be even more) for NatDex.
