I like Nidoking's design a little bit more, but in battle Nidoqueen has acquired a bit of edge for it's greater bulk. 10 pts is always wasted on a stat it doesn't use, and the 10 pts advantage in Speed usually doesn't make much of a difference. Meanwhile Nidoqueen's extra 10 in the bulk stats means no points are wasted.

the nidos are the quintessential pokemon designs to me. starting as cute but feisty little rodents, evolving into bigger and meaner animals, and ending as fearsome monsters.
but i don't like how the art and 3d models made nidorina bipedal. it's clearly supposed to be on all fours like nidorino.

I would point out that Nidoqueen comes off as very maternal, so not a fearsome monster in a threatening way like Nidoking, but still fearsome in her own right.
