It was even worse back in the day, yet (you)'ll defend it to your dying day with meaningless buzzwords like "soul" and "kino". Regardless the era (been playing since '99, pre "carpet-bombing the kids with marketing" window), the games are still fundamentally fun. I don't get it either, OP. We've seen from the leaked documents that they only invested $13 million for both this game and its DLC, and that they considered the previous DLC for SV as going over-budget.
So objectively, we know they are giving us the bare minimum - yet everyone bought it with open arms. Both critic and user reviews reflect that they didn't think the content was worth the cost, but they had already pre-ordered the DLC so too bad

I love doing fetch quests and having tutorial battles in video games. Makes me really want to start more new games, just to be dogwalked through how to play it because they stopped printing manuals to improve profit margins.

interesting you mentioned dogwalking, because one of the segments in the ZA DLC is literally walking an NPC's dog for no reason.

Is it a sidequest? Because I haven't met that and I'm only doing story missions (got the delta donut, but also shinyhunting like a motherfucker, so no 'quaza yet). I was just going to post "kid describes every video game ever" because they're ALL built on "repetitive tasks" from Pong to the modern day (even if the way they're presented got fancier). And as someone who hates rougelikes, I don't actually hate Pokémon Rougelike. But that's because it's a flavour of it, instead of a whole identity.
