- If the standard switches to realtime battles, Smogon is finished - they can't emulate that for technical AND legal reasons. Realtime Full 3D environment with X and Y-axis is worlds different from a turn-based, text simulator. Smogon already made some fake ass format for Z-A where they just insert all the new Megas with random abilities (kek). No one except Blunder is taking that shit seriously, it's more of a meme than NatDex. Smogon is really banking on people sticking around to use Showdown as a simulator for Champions exclusively, but if realtime becomes the standard there will be a mass exodus of normies regardless. Also, Showdown has like a 90% chance to get C&D when Champions releases anyway. Chaos'/Zarel's little talk with that 1 representative doesn't mean shit. Pokemon belongs to Nintendo.
- Gen 10 is Game Freak's LAST CHANCE in the cultural zeitgeist. The TENTH Generation is the biggest milestone since the series' inception. Gen 8 opened the Millenials' eyes to Nintendo's greed and laziness. Gen 9 released the most unoptimized, dogshit game since Sonic '06. Z-A's DLC was 99% reused assets. If Gen 10 is ass, IT'S OVER. Pokemon will go the way of Boruto where they will keep making money off retards, but the reputation will be permanently destroyed. Pokemon is already 80% at that point, but if Gen 10 is ass it'll be fucking over lol. Many Pokemon fans have only been keeping up with franchise for the waifu designs and just to know the new Pokemon so they can keep playing competitive. The games themselves have been dogshit since Black and White ended 13 years ago.
