This meme is all over and I had no idea this was from Pokémon. None of these characters look like they belong in Pokemon. Is the anime really this different now?

The Nu-anime is about the writers’ abysmally ugly donut steels meandering around aimlessly with some tidbits snatched here and there from the games. At least with the Ashnime, they bothered to use game characters, and donut steels were relegated to filler episodes rather than take the plot hostage.
