>>58826994Because in-universe and lore, the pokés from L: A are being taken out of their original time period, to appear in modern times, where the modern pokéball storage system has been enacted to log and transfer everyone's pokémon. This extends to adapting these pre-log system captures to a modern storage unit, to allow it to be picked and chosen akin to all other modern catches caught in modern capture balls in the modern system.
I mean, if they'd WANTED the old balls to show up in the modern era games, they'd have done so. If they went to this arse, it's because they can't justify early pokéball tech working with the storage systems (and given the lore dump about pokébalkls being able to be hacked, it shows they're not JUST simply a ball to allow people to trigger reflex actions to catch pokémon but FAR more tech-filled than previously imagined).
