>>58829460Of course with that middle ground status means that there's still significant portions of stuff to do available before post game, my personal favorite is the battle chateau which is where you get your gym leader rematches (now I should say that by extension this makes xy the only initial 2 of a generation where you can, on release, infinitely rematch all of the gym leaders) and by extension is where you get to fight the elite 4 and champion's enhanced teams (out of the way, I know, plus Diantha doesn't have all 6 pokemon so one or two negative points in a room of positives). Then you have the pokedex itself, which, I know, it isn't that big of a point, but in XY, due to the sheer size of the dex as well as the fact that it's split into three sections means that you are hard pressed to find pokemon that are on more than one route meaning you are finding new possible team members (and opponents) constantly all throughout the story. And how could I forget the bottom screen, outside of battle this has some of the best methods of increasing (or decreasing) EVs tied to a pretty fun minigame, the best online interface in the franchise (before Nintendo shut down the 3ds' online), and pokemon amie.
For what it destroys in the already non-existent challenge of XY, it makes up for by well over a mile in immersing you into caring for your pokemon. The only like system that comes close is alola's pokemon refresh, and even then that more serves to immerse you in the world and cure status effects. Pokemon amie is most like a tamagotchi that you can't kill.
