>>58843543My head-canon is that Pokemon are predisposed to like to battle one another, and then when you catch it in game, it is implied that it is ok with wanting to battle. But in-universe if the pokemon really does not want to battle it would be considered unethical to force them to. Or maybe that's just my cope.
