Yet Hisuian Electrode has existed since the days of the ancient hero 2000 years ago and Laventon says Pokeballs are a recent invention. So what's the reason for Voltorb and Electrode looking like Pokeballs? It's not for gameplay reasons since there's no itemballs in Arceus for it to mimic. Did GF just think a Voltorb based on an old Pokeball would be cool without giving a second thought to anything else?
