I really enjoyed the music, the only issue is all the areas had the same melody, just changed up.
The dynamic music concept is a good idea, but the overall melody drags on.
At least it had more variety than ZA.

I loathe the whole “each province has the same leitmotif and they seemlessly transition” schtick. It just makes the overworld, wild battle themes and the towns sound the same since they’re all remixes of the same song like a shitty Yoshi game. The only exceptions are the three big cities which have distinct songs and there are some good battle themes. But I haven’t been a fan of the heavy use of leitmotifs in the Switch era. Just seems like they’re trying to copy Toby Fox poorly

It's really good though? The only bad tracks are the East Province themes and the Gym Battle theme. Everything else is good or even great. The Area Zero tracks are some of the best in the entire series.

It's the only piece of music I remember from Scarlet and Violet. I always saved my Terastal to powerup at the same time as the leader. My only complaint is that it ends really fast unless you let it play.

No, he's right. Each region having its own theme means that they can get away with making half the soundtrack just different arrangements of one song. Like how Kirby has been going overboard with Green Greens lately.

I say Go Ichinose completely lost it, his works for Pokémon really fell off when he returned after Gen 6.
