JN series would have worked better with a group of friends and their fun interactions with each other in the cast as they meet new rivals that became the part of the supporting cast like Z-A Royal leaders. Eventually leading them to join forces to stop a catastrophy like the Darkest Day or anime only crisis.
Instead the series wasted time on Goh's dream to catch Mew and Koharu's goal to find her goal, nobody gave a dam about that.
