When Game Freak deleted arsepull, because they planned an ACTUAL mega, the franchise pivoted from it being an actual thing to being a thing in lore, complete with being deleted from certain events (because the anime established megas were just pokémon again, instead of super sentai fighting robots only ANOTHER SSFR could defeat).
