>>58865890You're delusional and coping with fantasies of control. The only options are:
>There is a god, and he is indifferent to our suffering and thus is evil.>There is a god, and he is impotent to stop our suffering, and thus is not a god at all>There is no god, and we only have what exists in this worldThe fact of the matter is, to the best of our scientific understanding, we have no free will due to our subconscious making all our choices for us before we make them consciously, there are no souls, there is no afterlife, and there is no higher power. To deny this makes you a retard at best and a madman at worst.
Of course, you're projecting your own mental health issues onto me; I'm just stating facts while you're taking those as me being mentally ill. The truth of the matter is these thoughts don't cross my mind in normal, daily activity. They have no input on how I act. But the mere idea that you aren't some special snowflake hand-crafted by some ethereal sky daddy sends you into a panic, because your morality and entire life relies on this being true. Not so for me.
>>58865796I didn't say any of that, so quit projecting your faggotry onto me. I am a nihilist, but I'm an Existential Nihilism. Nothing - not even human life - has any inherent meaning. Everything only has the meaning we ascribe to it, and only to us. This is not the same as Cosmic Nihilism (the idea that the universe is a cold, uncaring place so just give up).
To someone who believes that their sky daddy gave them a speshul snowflake purpose in life, this is terrifying. To a sane person who doesn't believe in made up bullshit, this is liberating because now you can concern yourself with what matters to you, not what matters to some old book made by humans to control people and grab at power.
