I often ask myself what's my favorite Pokemon game, but I always end up returning to the same answer: HGSS.
Unlike most HGSS fans tho, I don't think HGSS is necessarily the objectively best Pokemon game. It's just the one that ticks the most boxes for me as a Pokemon fan.
I think Platinum, Emerald or BW2 can be considered better than HGSS, depending on personal taste, but HGSS has "something" that all of them lack. I think the main thing for me, is the combination of Johto and Kanto. I think Johto and Kanto are the best regions, and combined they're even better. I honestly think Johto+Kanto mog any other region that we've seen in Pokemon sofar.
