>>58865073 I'm surprised with the amount of senior staff working on it, and worried what it means for Gen 10. It's supposedly been in development for 6 years and during that time, the games went from bad to abysmal really fast.
The only glimmer of hope I have is that having newer staff working on Gen 10 will actually allow something resembling innovation, but I'm betting the oldheads still had a stranglehold on the development while being hads-off.
With the game itself, it seems like a blend of Nier Automata, Ghosts of Tsushima/Yotei, and soulslikes, but knowing GF, it will fail to capture what people liked about any of them. The graphicsfags harping on about "it looks good, GF are good devs, Nintendo bad" fail to realize that UE5 is doing most if not all the heavy lifting there.
As an aside, this is the product of GF's bitterness of being seen only as "the Pokémon devs", they even mentioned the Gear Project in the developer direct, so they're still not over it. It really pisses me off that even though they clearly resent being "the Pokémon devs" they won't let anyone else work on the main series and are weirdly protective of their position, as seen in the internal docs in the teraleak. They won't pour any passion into Pokémon anymore, but will churn out low budget shit to milk cash and make other games they do care about, all without allowing anyone else the opportunity to make a decent RPG, as that would expose just how little they care.
