>>58887113>Trainer Tower and Trainer Hill are too shallow experiences compared to the Battle Tower equivalents or Battle Frontier. They're definitely more shallow than those, as those are much more akin to full blown competitive, but too shallow to reward ribbons? No way.
Contests are even more shallow, yet reward ~20 from the outset. Clearing the E4, talking to characters on the right day of the week, simply clearing minigames, just having high friendship, etc.. etc... are all cases where ribbons are rewarded, without requiring depth to their acquisition.
Ribbons are more about markers of completed activities throughout the gens. Things like the Trainer Tower would certainly qualify.
>>58887121>Then why would you like the Trainer Tower?Because it constitutes a challenge.
Note, the word "challenge" does not necessitate difficulty. This is a distinction many people seem to not understand, willingly or otherwise.
>How is that challenging?A challenge is a task to test abilities, often under set restrictions. Trainer Tower necessarily qualifies with that alone.
The difficulty of it depends on the goal. Trying to simply clear it, with no hang ups? A lvl 3 Electrode with Sonicboom will do, its not hard.
Trying to clear it with a specific team? Well you'll need to be more considerate of your move selection to ensure optimal play.
Trying to beat your own highest record with a specific team? This can require more fine optimization.
>What decision making? The teams are always the same. But yours arent.
>>58887136I imagine most people aren't, yeah. Thats partly why I cant say its this huge flaw or anything, as most wouldnt give a shit to begin with.
