For me, its to be geared towards a more mature audience and updating the Pokédex to reflect new evolutions.

I just had a dream that there was a new Kanto reboot with a dark atmosphere and alternate story that featured new crossgen evos of Kanto Pokemon which look futuristic.

and include the ones that are native to kanto but only introduced after. Like Houndour. Bonus, new cross-gen evos and maybe some straight-up new mons. Imagine getting new KANTOOOOOOO mons after 30 years.
