They're easily the best games since Gen 5 and they actually take the mainline games in a forward direction. Obviously, they aren't perfect (I wish Overwold catching would be implemented already) but they're fun and definitely not catastrophically dogshit like so many people make them out to be.

The actual content is find but on a technical level they are catastrophic dogshit. Still better than most 3D games that fail in both regards. So far only arceus has been able to strike a good balance despite its flaws

Depends on what game. BDSP is just...lol. And SWSH were a bit disappointing.
I liked SV, but as someone already mentionned, they are terrible on a technical level. Many players were already excusing the poor graphics, but this is something a lot of people (including me) just can't tolerate, and this ruins everything.
I haven't played PLA nor ZA. I have seen many people actually liking PLA. ZA was just "correct" but I have seen that the DLC is just awful.

I replayed SV and it's honestly the best pokemon content period since gen 5. It's actually incredibly good and fun. I almost never play past the e4 but I am compelled to do as much content as possible in these games because everything is genuinely interesting. Idk why it gets so much hate.

Very true but in SV’s case, most of its content comes from the dlc. It’s a pretty empty game on its own. There isn’t even a postgame story quest like SWSH, BDSP Arceus, and Z-A.
