He’s also the original designer of Drampa and a few others (Honedge Evo line and the Kalos Fossil Pokémon line)

Watch the designer is actually the OG designer of Feraligatr and collaboration with Totodile designer.

Anyway, I seen someone online saying that the Totodile mask on its back is actually a boat use to explore freshwater environments and lake where the alligator lives. Goes on to say that Mega Feraligatr’s chest resembles more like a water safety vest and the pattern on its back looks like the ridges of the hull of a boat, like the entire design is a whole boat/fishing alligator culture.

Now I know why Drampa exists. It bugged Hitoshi Ariga that Hyper Beam has been associated with dragons since Gen 1 yet they've never had a STAB bonus for it.
