What are /vp/'s thoughts on this game so far? I heard DQ Builders is praised and this seems to be similar? Too bad it's Switch 2 only..

Pretty much this.
>$70 for a barebones nu-AC-looking ass game except it's got Pokemon branding and packaging
>you don't even truly own the game and have to sacrifice space on your Switch 2 to play it
The only interesting part is that it's made by the team that did DQ Builders, but it's 100% guaranteed to be shallow, watered-down garbage with little-to-no depth

Seems like something I'll enjoy. I haven't played DBQ but it seemed good, and I've played a lot of pixelmon and palworld and stuff
However I'm apparently still in the Switch 1 era where I expect $40 games to be sold at $60. I did not consider that it would be $70. I guess I don't have a choice if I don't want to wait around a year for a discount only to get a fucking game key card but 70 just feels like shit to pay
