>>58897510Yeah but in universe, all of newer fairymons exist retroactively in universe as well. This includes things like Flabebe, which despite looking like a grass type very obviously doesn't act like one. There's also Swirlx, Milcery, Fidough, not to mention the others.
Although it being discovered via Snubbull and Jigglypuff is funny.
>>58897520>>58897549I think it partly depends on what typing is in universe, For instance if there's something like Type-Energy, then obviously there'd be Fairy-Energy and people missing it seems ridiculous. On the opposite end you could write the world where Fairy type not being known about could make sense.
Fairies could also be rare, Regions could be isolated other guy said a lack of communication, but at the same time that probably as you said requires a world set in the past.
Which honestly I'm all for, PLA's time period is fun and you can always see peoples ancestors even if you can't see them yourself. Introduce proto-maga or proto-aqua, the charitable rocket society, a rust syndicate that's actually evil...etc
I dropped Pokemon Trainer Vicky when it did something similar early on with Feebas evolving into Milotic being unknown. I didn't even entirely hate it, I just though the justifications didn't entirely make sense when feebas is implied to be rare or endangered in generation 3 & 4, which just provides so strong of an out or explanation.
Although maybe the author does provide the endangered explanation and I'm remembering incorrectly?
