Blastoise's and Wartortle's overworld sprite colors seamed to be swapped, do you think this was a mistake?

It might be. Like because a lot of mons get slightly darker in color as they evolve, it could be someone assuming it works that way for the Blastoise.line? IDK exactly how that would've happened on the production side though, like if they literally swapped the colors by accident or just did them without a reference or what

Overworld Sprites (and Sprites in general) are not consistent in this series, see Dialga/Palkia Overworld Sprites in DPPT vs HGSS or Salamence color scheme in gen 3 despite the artwork being the correct color
