The website is so fucking trash and I genuinely can't believe anyone uses it seriously. I remember going on it trying to see everything in the XY Pokedex (long before transfers were available) and one of the last things was Slowking. His website just said it was in Lumiose, it was actually in one of the specific battles in one of the restaurants. Also there's been so many instances where I've looked up news and he just misspells things. He just rushes to get things on first because he's still shit scared of Bulbapedo (or any other website) getting the drop on him.

Because retards take it out of context on purpose. Kit & Krysta's job was to advertise Nintendo products. TPC didn't want their games to be shown in that way through official channels, because nuzlockes are antithetical to how the games are intended to be played. Doing so would be as harmful to the brand as playing a rom hack would be.

Although nuzlockes aren't the "official" way to play the games, it's still more accessible and not in a legal gray area compared to romhacks since all you'd need are the console, the game and possibly a search tab up for "how do i play nuzlockes?" if you've a complete noob to it. You could even do it on a freshly released game on launch day with no knowledge of the critters that's in it as long as you know the rules. Romhacks aren't as personal or easy to come by if you're looking for something more specific and it takes a while before newer games can be documented for that. Iirc DS games are just starting to become more documented nowadays so it's gonna be easier to make hacks of those.

I have seen this in other places, I think it boils down to people REALLY into pokemon that don't understand the difference of "mainline" in terms of business for the company (ZA is a mainline game and will bring in x amount of profit) and mainline for a consumer (new starters, pair of games and a new region)

Pokemon/Nintendo are really protective of their brand image and don't like things that go against it. Even nuzlockes which don't need any external modifications go against their strict guideline of "Pokemon don't die when they faint".

Yeah, but this is normal for all kinds of big brands. Not wanting the people that are officially promoting your brand to promote it in ways that are at odds with how you want the brand promoted is completely standard.
Getting mad at TPC/Nintendo/etc for not wanting the people they're paying to make official Pokemon videos to make videos where they present Pokemon battles as being battles to the death is just completely failing to understand how marketing and branding works.
