that point is there are "people" who say pokemon that have megas aren't shillmons and that the Pokemon with megas aren't the ones Game Freak wants people to like, despite the TeraLeak explicitly saying that they made megas solely to force players to like the specific pokemon Game Freak considers the most important

They are right since how megas are decided is most likely just like how the Flygon thing goes. They give their artist a choice to draw megas and then they pick the ones they like just like how they couldnt find a good design for Flygon. Lucario artist just thought cool Lucario is liked so lets try a mega design for it and thats how it was born.

Game freak still picks the pokemon they favor and tell artists to draw megas of those. That’s why the first megas conceptualized were the Kanto starters (the bearded blastiose and chinzard pictures floating around were from the Teraleak). Like for the ZA starters I HIGHLY doubt they threw every starter without an mega and told artist to pick to just start drawing whatever the pick from the best . They picked they picked the ones they wanted to shill then told artists to draw designs fo those. (I’m assuming Gatr became the humialtiaon ritual it is because game freak is so stupid even their shillmons get fucked in the ass).
