Wanted to thought-dump an idea I had for an evil team and would like some feedback.
Evil Team seek control of the game's main region. Plan is to flood the region with people shift the demographic. Think gentrification.
All the normies moving in are oblivious to the Evil Team's goal to control the region and are just going with the flow.

The main region's Pokemon Professor is in cahoots with the Evil Team, which is a big twist reveal.
Professor's main study is Pokemon Genetics, and he works with the Evil Team to conduct genetic experiments on Pokemon.
The goal is to create new and powerful Pokemon that only the Evil Team's elites can use to maintain their power.
Some of the results include new cross-gen evolutions, regional forms, and new crossbreed Pokemon.

Evil Team found a way to take two Pokemon that do NOT share an egg group together and make them breed.
The result is like pic rel. Somehow splicing a Gliscor and Pyroar together to create an all new species.
Thing is, I am unsure what the lore science would be behind which Pokemon they could successfully crossbreed.
